Places to go in the Hamptons

We wanted to offer you a list of some of our favorite Hamptons haunts. We hope that while we're not celebrating together, you get the chance to do some adventuring on the island. Here are some of our suggestions for your weekend!

Activities

Birding (& Hiking)

  • Elizabeth Morton Nature Preserve in Noyak

  • Quogue Wildlife Refuge in Quogue

  • South Fork Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton

  • For a Bird Drive: Dune Road in Hampton Bays (from the Shinnecock Inlet to Dolphin Lane)

Beaching (daily permits required from 9-5)

  • Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays (on ocean)

  • Long Beach in Noyac (between Southampton and Sag Harbor) (on Noyac Bay)

Boating

  • Cruise Sag Harbor Bay in a 36-ft lobster yacht with Captain Hagen.  Contact Sag Harbor Charters to reserve.

Golfing

  • Poxabogue Golf in Sagaponack (between Bridgehampton and Southampton) (9 holes)

  • Sag Harbor Golf Course (in Sag Harbor 9 holes)

  • Indian Island Golf in Riverhead (18 holes)

  • Southampton Golf Range in Southampton (hitting range)

Vineyarding (reservations recommended)

  • Channing Daughters in Bridgehampton

  • Wolffer in Sagaponack (between Bridgehampton and East Hampton)

Art Exploring

  • Longhouse Reserve Sculpture Garden and Reserve in East Hampton (reservations may be required)

  • Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill

  • Pollock Krasner House and Studio in East Hampton (advance reservations required)

Food

Bridgehampton

  • Almond Restaurant (upscale; nice bistro food; mostly indoors)

  • Armin & Judy (awesome bread and breakfast treats mostly to go; also a restaurant with very good pizza; indoors and outdoors)

  • Bridgehampton Inn Restaurant (one of the best restaurants around; indoors and outdoors)

  • Candy Kitchen (soda shop with good breakfast, lunch and ice cream)

  • Pierre’s (French pastries to go; also a restaurant with nice French food, but Pierre; mostly indoors)

  • Round Swamp Farm (gourmet shop with great baked goods, produce and other delicious things to go)

Hampton Bays

  • Canal Cafe (super casual restaurant; great seafood and shellfish; outdoors; on Shinnecock Canal)

  • Cowfish (casual restaurant; eclectic menu; indoors and outdoors; also on Shinnecock Canal; reservations recommended)

  • Edgewaters (relatively upscale restaurant; very good food; indoors and outdoors; view of Shinnecock Bay; reservations recommended)

  • Oaklands (relatively upscale, old-fashioned seafood restaurant on marina at Shinnecock Inlet; mostly indoors for dining but fun for drinks outside;  reservations recommended)

  • Scotto’s Italian Pork Store (pizza and prepared foods mostly to go)

  • Tully’s (basically a clam shack; best New England clam chowder)

Southampton

  • Goldberg’s Bagels (best bagels in Hamptons)

  • Hampton Coffee (great coffee and muffins)

  • Sant Ambroeus in Southampton (excellent gelato; good espresso; also a restaurant but a bit too formal for our taste)

  • Sip ‘n Soda (soda shop with good breakfast, lunch and ice cream)

  • Tates in Southampton (classic bake shop; famous for chocolate chip cookies)

  • Union Burger Bar (great burgers, fries and shakes)

  • Wishbone Farms (coffee, gourmet foods)

Sag Harbor

  • Dock House (shack with chowder, fried clams and lobster rolls)

  • Estia’s Little Kitchen (Mexican American food great for breakfast/lunch)

  • Grindstone Coffee & Donuts (artisanal donuts)

  • Il Capuccino (red sauce Italian food and awesome garlic knots)

  • LT Burger (great burgers, fries and shakes)

  • Sagtown Coffee

Sagaponack

  • Town line BBQ (very casual; great BBQ; indoors)

Water Mill

  • Halsey Farm Store (best Farmstand around)

  • Hampton Coffee (great coffee and muffins mostly to go; also a restaurant; indoor and outdoor)

  • Pike Food Truck (great soul food; at Corwith’s Farmstand (which also has goat yoga!)
